3 Things to Do on Your Day Off
Posted on 04 July 2016
The 4th of July is one day of many throughout the year that most people have the luxury of taking off. However, too many people do not utilize the day(s) to their full advantage; rather than embracing a day free from work, people get caught up in sleeping in, spending the day lazing about, or drinking too much. And so whether it’s today or another day that you do not have to go to work, consider doing these three things on your day off:
- Exercise
You have been complaining all year about the fact that you would exercise, if only you had the time. Well, today’s the day – without work to go into, why not spend a full hour (or more) dedicated to movement? Exercise doesn’t just mean hopping on a treadmill; instead, try yoga, hiking, walking, swimming, cycling, weight lifting, or anything else where you are physically engaged.
- Read
When was the last time you had a free moment to pick up a book or a newspaper? If you can’t remember, set aside some time on your day off just to read and relax. Your mind and body will both thank you.
- Spend Some Time Alone Outdoors
Both things – spending time outdoors and spending time alone – are critical to good overall health. When you have time away from work, these two activities should be prioritized.
